Custom Shandalar Randomizer v0.2.5

This page allows you to create your own custom randomizer for the 2016 version of MicroProse's Shandalar.

How To Use

Each of Shandalar's fifty-five enemy types are displayed below. For each enemy type, provide the Moxfield public ID of each decklist you would like to set on that creature, one per line. You may submit up to 25 decks per enemy.

Each enemy displays the original color identity of its deck in Shandalar before its name. For example, in the original Shandalar game, the Prismat ran a deck. You are not required to follow these specific guidelines, but enemies with each specified color identity will stop appearing once all their respective wizards are defeated. (Note that there is no genie in Shandalar.)

Running Shandalar: Randomizer

Install Python 3 if it isn't already. Extract the

data

folder of your randomizer ZIP file to the Shandalar

decks

folder. Download the randomizer Python script and run it passing the

decks

folder as a parameter. For instance, if your decks folder was located at

C:/Users/mcelani/Shandalar/decks

, invoke the script in Powershell using

python.exe ./randomizer.py "C:/Users/mcelani/Shandalar/decks"

. You can then play Shandalar as normal while it runs. The script will overwrite decks in the folder as it runs, so make a backup of that folder's contents before you play.

Additional Flags

When running the script, pass the -t flag to enable turbo-mode, which randomizes all decks across all enemy types. Pass the -o flag to randomize only once instead of continuously over time.
